Case studies
The expensive lessons, with the numbers attached.
Three are written up below, from his own recorded words. The rest are sitting in his job files, and they are not going on this page until they are in hand.

Why these are here
Not success stories. Arithmetic.
Every case study on this page comes out of one recorded interview with Jay Voisey on 15 September 2026. Where a figure appears, it is a figure he said out loud, and it is labelled as his rather than as an audited one.
Where the arithmetic is ours and not his, the page says so on the line it appears on. There are no customer names here and no testimonials, because Checkered Flag has never published one.
“So i’m hoping to educate a lot of the people out there that are new to the game, so that, so that they can be fair with everybody else, um, and bring the prices up overall.”

That is the reason he agreed to teach it. These three are where the money actually moved.

Three, in full.
01 · Insurance
The $40,000 claim that cost $80,000
One pulled bicep. The only workers comp claim of his career, three years at 130% of premium afterwards, and a number that rode on every hour of labour he bid in between.

02 · Overhead
Two percent of gross, before you dig
General liability priced off your sales, billed over ten months, then audited against your tax return. What that does to a thin bid, and what the audit can do to a thin account.

03 · Materials and finish
Why he will not run corrugated pipe
Slick pipe only, schedule 35 minimum, and a slope you can run a riding mower across sideways. A spec is a price, and this is what his commits him to.

From his job files
Three job files. Two that made money, one that lost it.
They have been asked for and they have not arrived. Until they do, there is no bid total, no job margin and no customer on this site, because there is nothing honest to put there.
That is the whole reason this page has three entries instead of nine. More will be added as the jobs are pulled and written up the same way: his figures, labelled as his, with the arithmetic shown rather than the moral.

The course is eight modules of this.
The founding cohort is $397. After it closes the price is $597. Reserving takes no card.
